Egypt's core inflation drops to 24.4% in October 2024

Egypt’s annual core inflation rate eased to 24.4% in October 2024, down from 25% in September 2024, according to the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
 
The CBE also reported that the monthly core Consumer Price Index (CPI) for October 2024 stood at 1.3%, lower than 1.8% in October 2023 and slightly higher than the 1.0% recorded in September 2024.
 
Core inflation excludes certain volatile categories, offering a more stable measure of inflation trends.
 
In related data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), Egypt's annual urban consumer price inflation was recorded at 26.5% in October 2024, compared to 26.4% in September 2024.
 
The country’s monthly urban headline consumer price index inflation stood at 1.1% in October 2024, up from 1.0% in October 2023 but down from 2.1% in September 2024.
