Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi announced Egypt's formal inclusion in the "Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty," a key initiative introduced at the inaugural G20 (U20) Summit session on Social Inclusion and Combating Hunger and Poverty.

Speaking at the summit in Rio de Janeiro, President Sisi extended gratitude to Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva for Egypt's invitation and praised Brazil's leadership in advancing global cooperation.

He emphasized that Egypt's participation aligns with the global mission to combat inequality and address urgent crises, including those in Palestine and Lebanon, which he linked to ongoing conflicts and international inaction.

President Sisi highlighted Egypt's national initiatives like the "Decent Life" program aimed at improving living standards for rural populations. He also reaffirmed Egypt's proposal to establish a global hub for grains and food storage to bolster food security and supply chain resilience.

Sisi underscored the importance of balanced partnerships with developing nations, focusing on concessional financing, technology transfer, and sustainable development goals. He urged global leaders to redirect priorities and deliver practical solutions to eradicate hunger and poverty.
