The third Egyptian Entrepreneurship Annual Report Summit 2025, held in El Gouna, brought corporate culture to the forefront of discussions on business growth and sustainability.
A panel titled “How Does Culture Eat Strategy in Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner?” featured Hadir Shalaby, CEO of Talabat Egypt, and Medhat Yassin, Executive Vice President of Mori International.
The speakers stressed that recruitment is not simply about filling roles but ensuring alignment with company culture. Shalaby noted that age and academic degrees matter less than mindset, passion, and problem-solving skills: “I look for entrepreneurial spirit and creativity above any résumé,” she said. She warned that keeping underperformers sends a damaging message that mediocrity is acceptable, undermining an organization’s culture.
Yassin echoed her views, emphasizing that culture is a decisive factor in an employee’s success or failure. He cautioned that without a clear cultural vision, each manager develops their own version, which ultimately leads to organizational chaos. Building a strong culture, he added, is a long and challenging process, but one that determines the future of any company.
Organized by Entlaq, the summit ran on September 25–26 and was anchored in the annual Entrepreneurship Sector Diagnostic Report.
The report highlights entrepreneurship as a key driver of resilience, inclusivity, and innovation in Egypt’s economy. The event drew government leaders, policymakers, investors, startups, and innovation experts, creating a platform for knowledge-sharing and exploring opportunities across Egypt and the wider region.
