Cairo has been ranked fourth globally in a list of the 12 most beautiful cities in the world for 2026, according to travel platform Civitatis, which specializes in tours and activities worldwide.
The ranking highlights Cairo’s deep historical heritage, noting that its origins stretch back thousands of years.
The report emphasized that even a single view of the Great Pyramid of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, is enough to understand why the Egyptian capital is considered among the world’s most visually and culturally remarkable cities.
The platform also pointed to Cairo’s wide range of tourist experiences. These include visits to the Egyptian Museum, home to one of the most extensive collections of ancient artifacts globally, as well as exploring the city’s bustling traditional markets that reflect its distinctive cultural identity.
Beyond historical and cultural attractions, the report noted that visitors are particularly drawn to Nile-based experiences, especially dinner cruises on the River Nile that combine dining with live entertainment, an increasingly popular activity among international tourists.
Civitatis, which operates in more than 4,000 destinations worldwide and has served over 30 million travelers, said the selection reflects Cairo’s unique blend of ancient history, living culture, and diverse tourism offerings.
